RE-FREAKIN'-DICULOUS. I hate the Yankees. And not just cuz they are quite the winning club or that they need to be taken down quite a few pegs or the fact that they spend ridiculous amounts of money on their team...it's because they are just so goddamn full of themselves it makes me sick.

Steinbrenner is insane. I mean, give the other teams a chance, for cryin' out loud!!

The best quote: "Boy, Steinbrenner really wants to beat the Red Sox bad." -- Tommy Lasorda

"If the Yankees were trying to find a way get under the Red Sox's skin, they found it. (Rodriguez) is out of our division, which is good, but we'll see what it might mean to the playoffs. You kind of hate to see two teams going after each other way those teams are. I am not sure it's great for baseball in the long run." -- Mariners manager Bob Melvin

"The Yankees gave up a real good player in (Alfonso) Soriano to get him (Rodriguez), but it makes the Yankees that much tougher. With the addition of Alex and (Gary) Sheffield, you are adding a lot of home runs and high average right in the middle of the lineup. It seems like the Red Sox and Yankees have been competing against each other this offseason. The Red Sox missed out on Alex and the Yankees one-upped them." -- Mariners outfielder Randy Winn

"It certainly makes the Yankees an even more formidable team. They are in a tough division and there is going to be a lot of banging in that division. The good thing for us is it takes Alex out of our division. We have to do our job to win the division, but with what the Red Sox and Yankees have done, it could be tougher to win the Wild Card. ... You can't win a World Series before you get to the postseason and things happen over course of a year." --Mariners pitching coach Bryan Price

"Heck, I have had a harder time getting Soriano out than A-Rod, but Alex can hurt you a lot worse with the longball. I knew the Yankees were going to do something. They can't let the Red Sox outdo them. That's why they have 26 World Series championships. I guess it is good for baseball, but I feel sorry for Texas fans. Losing Alex is even worse for them down there." --Mariners pitcher Ryan Franklin

Man I love the M's...hopefully we'll be able to have a good season this year...and make it to the playoffs...and not choke...

More quotes from around the MLB

"After playing for the New York Yankees for nine years, Andy Pettitte is used to club owner George Steinbrenner's bottomless-cup-of-coffee approach to winning a pennant....But that's the lure of the Bronx Zoo, Pettitte surmised. Everyone wants to play for a winner, and the Yankees are to October baseball as reality television is to American pop culture -- excessive, and not likely to end anytime soon."

Man, I'd be pissed as all hell if I were
Soriano...

Damn Yankees.

So the baseball vent is over for now...for now...let's see those salary caps come into play, huh? C'mon Selig...do your job!!!

Anyway, dinner today at Jade Garden (again) -- I swear, I've been to that place like 10 times in the past month...rather disturbing, actually...found out that Adrian and Jami are leaving for Virginny on the 23, coming back after about a week with Adrian staying for 4-5 days, going back to an apt in VA, and Jami packing up the house and leaving at the latest by April 1st. So sad!! Alex is gonna grow up to be an East coaster...not to mention a southerner...oh God...(not that I have anything against those of you from the south...it's just that we're all from the West Coast and not CA!!) I bet he's gonna grow up to have an accent and say "y'all, sir, m'am, miss..." such a change. And such is life.

Alright, these drugs I've taken are making me extra sleepy. So it's time to sleep. Zzzzz....
