Happy May Day!

So my family's crazy.

Last weekend my uncle twisted his ankle playing golf with my sister.

On Friday, my dad fell on his back playing pickle ball and now has a sore back and hip.

Last night, my cousin fell down the steps at my uncle's house and has a sprained ankle.

I've been spending a lot of time in the hospital lately...

And my other uncle has to be out of his old house and into his new one by 5pm today. I wonder if that's gonna happen...

Two midterms tomorrow (how exciting), and two M's games in a row.

I heart baseball.

Dante's and the Emigrant were fun Thursday night! Thanks to Alex London Wright and Ms. Jill for the beer. Chunk, glad you came out! It was a good night.

Family Guy is back!! FOX tonight at 9pm. Be there...or I'll send Quagmire after you!

I don't have any definitive plans after graduation as of yet.

I'll might work as a seasonal full-time employee at Holland America Cruise Lines during the summer. In August we'll be taking the annual Au Family Trip to the Beach. Oregon Coast, of course. In September (if it all works out) I'll be in Central America, and after that...no idea.

I've gotta brush up on my Spanish. Anyone wanna practice with me? ;)

Sonics are up 2-1 in the series against the Kings. GO SONICS!!!

Mariners are doing well. Hovering right around .500 most of the season thus far, which is great.

Work is work, and I'm done working here at the end of the month. I've still got a box full of business cards. Anybody want one?

I think it's gonna be a long day...it's a little past 3pm and I feel like I've been at work for 5 hours. Not a good sign, I tell ya.

I can't wait for school to be over. T-Minus 42 days until Commencement!! It's so exciting! Yet a little scary at the same time.

We're growing up! I'm gonna have to enter the "real world" and become a responsible, mature adult. It hasn't felt like 4 years of college have gone by, but they've gone, and here I am, a few midterms, papers, and finals away from being a certified college graduate. The first female of my generation from my dad's side of the family. Oh the pressure...the fam's really pushing for me to get my MBA or go to law school so that I can handle my aunts' finances. Mmm...that's not gonna happen for at least a year.

And now I just got a new job offer...I've gotten 2 so far...will I get more?

Yes, what will you be doing with the cruise line?

Chelsie isn't allowed to ask questions, actually...only those who go to Dante's on Thursday(s) can do that.

How do you get these job offer things?

hi there jessica,

this is penny... i'm a grad student at the university of oregon... and was searching for ana maria's (de antigua guatemala) new contact information. it appears that the mail address i have for her is no longer working (aackermans@tiscal.nl). i was doing an online search & your blog entry came up while you were in guate. i am currently trying to set up for a set of volunteers to escort a child & his grandparents to managua, nicaragua for a corneal transplant examination as he is completely blind - & this is his one shot at being able to see. (the doctors will only be in managua for three days... 16th-19th) if you have her new information that would be lovely! as they are in need of an escort this weekend... may 14th or 15th. i enjoyed your entries, as they took me back to my work in guate... i was there conducting research on orphanages & intl. adoption. & a dear friend of mine is very good friends w/ ana maria... if you have her new email address-- that would be great, & much appreciated. you can email me @ jungheekoh40@yahoo.com or at pen@darkwing.uoregon.edu

thanks for your time & attention. :)
best,
penny
