Oh yes, a new week has begun.

Made lasagne last night for dinner with the fam and it was good...mmm...tasty. Even better than the other times I had made it. Mmm...food is good. I don't understand how people don't like food. Anyway...

And with the beginning of this new week, I was fairly rudely awoken by the sounds of heavy machinery drilling, pounding, and breaking up our driveway. Today was ground breaking day at my house. Remodling has officially begun! They say it's supposed to be done by mid-June, but I'd say sometime in July is closer to the truth. We'll be getting a new garage that fits 4 cars, and my parents are getting a whole new bedroom with a little deck at the top. It's gonna be noisy here on out at my house! It's exciting though, and they should have the new foundation ready in a week or two...then the real work begins. Eek! Thankfully the contractors will be painting the house as well, so that I don't have to do it. Awesome...

So now when I go home I have to park at the middle house since our driveway is practically nonexistent at the moment. They got here around 9:30am and left around 2 or 3pm...tore up about 3/4 of the driveway, I'd say. Thank God they're not touching the air conditioner yet though...they'll only take it out when absolutely necessary so that we'll only be without A/C for a few days at most. Whew! Yesterday was like 80 degrees outside! And then, as Mother Nature is so schizo, today was in the 60s (at most) and hailed and was quite windy out. It was fun walking through the wind though! I love it when it's windy outside! I'm quite apprehensive about this IHL paper that's due soon...it's making me nervous cuz i haven't really thought about it yet, but I need to get crackin' on that one. HMJ isn't really worrying me though. I'll have to send the prof an email tomorrow about what my topic's gonna be...hmm...I'd better decide on one quick!

Today was totally random in that I saw Alicia for the first time since Mitch's bday pseudo-cocktail party. Alicia, we need to hang out more often. Saw Ray and Tymon too...two people I haven't seen since last year! It's fun running into people on campus that you haven't seen in awhile who you don't mind seeing, that is. Running into people you don't really wanna talk to is not so much fun, I'd have to say.

Man, I got sent a link from one of my HNA friends about one of the girls who was in our graduating class and man...did she turn out to be a hoe-bag! JEEZ!! I think that I've been scarred for life by looking at her website. This girl fancies herself a singer and well, I guess she thinks she's hot stuff...she isn't, mind you, and I'm completely disturbed by this "transformation," if you will. She used to be quite prissy and seemed semi-reserved, but well...I guess I had her pegged all wrong! If any of you wanna see this website...I'll IM/email it to you. Let's just say she used to sing about Mexican Jews and changed the pronunciation of her name about 50 times during the course of the 4 years we spent at HNA...those from HNA will know who I'm talking about. EEEK!!! I love how all her raves are from her bandmembers...that tells you a lot, huh? Awesome...totally awesome... =P

Alright, that's enough chit chat outta me. Candace, I'm glad you had such a wonderful 21st birthday and remember, I'll take you out for a drink as soon as I'm legal too! Webbs, keep up with the German! Trent, how that Abby girl doing? ;) Tida, I wish I was in Verona and coulda been in Rome when you went this weekend! Sunshine, email me! I have things to tell about Cassie and mingle points! =D

Take care all! *muah*

Well hello there...

School is school, so nothing fun and/or exciting (HA!) is going on there. Although I do have a rough draft of my 10 page research paper due in about 2 weeks as well as a presentation in IHL in about 2 weeks...oh that's scary. Eek!!

Played cards with Erin, Sean, Derek, Ben, and Jared last night, which was fun. Card games are good. We listened to music on Jared's clock radio cuz since the Webbs have left, so has their TV...awesome. Erik was a little tipsy when he made his appearances "There's a floater!" and provided us with some wonderful entertainment! Thanks, Erik! So yeah.

Oh, I watched Iron Chef America last night and it was fun. Not as much campy fun as the original, but hey...it's still entertaining!

M's playing Rangers right now...c'mon M's!!! Let's get the win-loss ratio up!! (As in, more wins than losses, please. Breaking even is good too!!!)

And that's a quick update for now cuz I'm blanking out and don't remember what this post was originally going to be about. Damnit.

So what have I been up to lately...not a whole lot...the usual.

Nothing too exciting has been going on, although the M's are making their way back and are now 5-8 thanks to tonight's 14 inning win against the A's! Who woulda thought a balk woulda won the game for us? hehehe...and apparently my dad's face was plastered all over the Diamond Vision...lol! Just got back from picking Jared, Derek, and Ben up from the game and dropping them off at their respective "home away from home(s)."

I had a marathon paper-writing session yesterday which was not the most fun. I wrote it about recent Russian-Chechen fighting in the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (formerly Chechnya) and the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) ramifications of these actions. 5 pages in more or less 5-6 hours. Scary. I practically pulled an all-nighter...but not really. After class went to RAMS to get my coursepack that I had paid for on Thursday, only to find out that they -- for whatever reason -- didn't make me a coursepack. So I had to wait for like 15 mins as they made a new one for me. Went to Burger Hut (1st time all year) for a blackberry shake and that was wonderful. Got home, crashed around 5:30pm as I was watching Food Taboos on The National Geographic Channel (I love NGC!!) and was half awake (barely conscious, really) when Jared called me from the game at 11pm.

Man, we practically used everyone we had in the game tonight! Only Davis and Hansen were left, and I think Villone was the only one left in the bullpen! Woohoo!! Thank you Justin Duchscherer for making that balk! I love baseball and I LOVE my Mariners!!! I'm so glad that Spiezio is back in the game, cuz man...he's helping out a ton! We've got a pretty good team this year and hopefully we'll keep up with the wins. Go M's!!!

So now I'm really ridiculously tired and I'm off to bed. Again...*muah*

People have been updating their sites and sending me email updates!! It's so exciting! =D

Paper due on Monday...not excited. Don't have class tomorrow, so that's a good thing. I've been watching a lot of old movies lately, and it's fun! Just watched Gone with the Wind yesterday...all 4 hours. "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." I love old movies!!!

Julie came over today, which is totally awesome cuz we haven't seen her in FREAKIN' FOREVER!! Talked about summer plans in terms of whether or not we want to go on a cruise or if we're gonna head back to the Oregon Coast...we'll see. Hey, we might even go to Australia...that would be so awesome!! Hehehe...

M's finally won their 2nd game of the season!! Woohoo!!! (Sad how excited I am about that...but hey, I'll take it nonetheless!) Take care all!

Happy 21st Birthday Aimee!!!! (Though it was yesterday, but that's ok...)

Wow...so I've decided that after I've worn heels for so long, that when it comes to wearing sandals or flats when I have to walk a lot...it hurts. Weird, huh? I KNOW!! I was walking around like I was lame (as in physical problems, not lame like the Lame List from Almost Live)...I felt retarded. Well, now the other definition of 'lame' can come in.

Today in my H,M, & J class, we talked about this film called Anatomy of a Springroll which is very close to my heart and I totally identified with and enjoyed the film. Food, culture, and how the two go hand in hand are right along my speed...hehehe...then we talked about an article on memory and history. There's this kid named Zach in the class who, while quite intelligent...has...interesting...ideas. But isn't that the whole point of college? To meet new people, see things from a different point of view, and accept and respect those differences. Although he made this comment on how he doesn't see how heritage and hereditary aspects affect memory and how it influences future generations. Wow. That was just special. We ran out of time, but man, would I have given the kid an earful about genocide. Although some of the people in class did a pretty good job. But yeah...

I register for Fall 2004 classes on May 11. That's just disturbing. Well, M's need to get it together...Anaheim's a pretty damn good team this year, as is Oakland, so this season is definately going to be interesting. AL West is definately going to be fun to watch. Right now it's bottom of the 6th 2-2 with 2 outs. C'mon M's!!! Soriano's in relief now...c'mon bullpen!! Alright, I need to get some reading done for IHL. Got a paper due on Monday and I couldn't be more...excited...about it. Well, I'll finish watching the game and then read some more...reading...

Take care everyone!! *muah*

HAPPY 48th BIRTHDAY MOMMY!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Went to Grandma Carney's house for a bit of lunch and an Easter egg hunt. Good times. That was from about 11:30am-4:30pm. Marathon. Good food, good company, good times. Mary and I slipped out of the party for about 20 mins as we went to the SAAM and saw the exhibit that ended today. Interesting and it literally did take like 10 mins.

Went home, took a bit of a nap, then went to Daniel's Broiler on Lake Union for my mom's birthday dinner with about 19 people total. Mmm...beef. I could NEVER EVER be a vegetarian. (Thank God!) We got there around 6:20pm and we finished eating at 9:30pm. 3 hours of wine (though I'm not legal yet, the servers didn't know...hehehe), food, and talking. Always a good combination! =)

And now here I am back at home relaxing...I can't believe that it's already 10pm. Damn.

Mariner's finally won a game!!!! WOOHOO!!! Took damn near long enough. So we are now currently 1-5. Wow, we're tied with Toronto and Philadelphia for last place in the majors...that's a tad depressing. Quite a sad record, but hey...we'll catch up! I have faith in those M's.

Alright, that's enough posting for now. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter (especially those in Rome, cuz you better have gone to mass or at least tried to see the Pope by now), and here's to the beginning of a new week!

Oh, and did I mention that I dropped my 2 Art History classes in order to keep my credits rolling in as s-l-o-w-l-y as possible so as to postpone graduation for as long as possible? 0=)

M's are 0-4...maybe Meche can get us a win today!! *maybe* GO MARINERS!!!!!
Or not...just checked the scores and we lost. 0-5 now...damnit. Maybe we'll be like the Huskies and start out 0-5 but bounce back...still seeking that elusive first win of the season. Pretty sad, nonetheless. =( What the hell is going on with them? Angels and A's are tough teams, but damn. I woulda thought that we could at least win ONE game so far!! You know it's sad when Tampa Bay is 3-2, and DETROIT (the freakin' TIGERS!!!!!) are 4-1!!!!!! Oh M's...we're batting 0.000 right now...here are the MLB Standings. >=(

Jesus, we're the only team in the majors that hasn't won a single game yet!!!!!! =(

So Thursday...I don't really remember what happened Thursday, actually. My sister's in Disneyland with Roni, Al, Agnes, and Sydney though...should be back sometime tonight...

Friday (yesterday) got my haircut, took Josh to get his shots, home for a little nap time, picked up Nell and Jared, went to Jalisco for dinner (on 15th --Capitol Hill), right next door to Ladro for a medici, pissed Nell off because we didn't let her go across the street to buy cloves, and yeah. Took her home, picked up Derek and Ben, off to see Jersey Girl. I wanted to watch it, and I thought that it was adorable. Totally cute and Raquel Castro is awesome. She's so cute!!! And the boys liked it, so I win. And get 5 million gold stars! Woohoo!! ;)

After the movie dropped the Derek and Ben off at McCarty, got gas at Shell ($1.92/gal) WTF...gas is WAAAAAAAY too expensive right now. Sucks ass is what it does. I remember when $1.92/gal would've been the price of Premium!!! BAH. Headed over to B&O, hot chocolate and tiramisu. It was good. Talking, driving, talking, then back home. So tired.

Today...work (still here), then Eiichi, Leakhana, and Naomi are supposed to come over to the house later...and I think that I'll be spending today as a zombie...maybe I can get a decent amount of sleep tonight, but I'm kinda doubting that one. Oh well.

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday, not to mention my mom's 48th birthday...YAY! Easter egg hunt/brunch (as usual) at Grandma Carney's tomorrow...then no idea what's going on in the afternoon, but dinner at Daniel's Broiler. And I think that's about all I have to say for now...enjoy the beautiful weather!!!

Mood: Sad.

Reason: M's lost tonight. (0-2) so far this season...but hey, it's just starting...and I think that this is going to be a rebuilding year anyway. Team's still feeling each other out and needs some time to coalesce and frankly...stop bobbling the ball so much. BAH. Lessons on how to hold the ball tightly and correctly so that it does not slip outta a glove and/or hand might be useful...

Anyway, school, work, eats, the usual...went to my first baseball game of the season tonight, and though we lost, it was still a good game and hopefully the season will progress nicely. I'm just ridiculously excited about the fact that I get to watch the M's play those Damn Yankees and Boston. Woohoo!!

The kid sitting in front of me spilled about half of his clam chowder on his baseball uniform at the game tonight...that was entertaining. And one of the bat boys (for the M's) runs like a prissy little girl with a stick up the ass. HILARIOUS. Got some commemorative USO coins, free programs (that are usually $4 a pop), free food/drink, and some opening day thing with a couple baseball cards inside it. Ahh the perks of buying tickets to the Diamond Club. I love it. =D And you get to park so close to the entrance of the garage (not garadge, Chunk -- I would like to state for the record that I said "garaGe" and not "garaDGe") so that you can leave quite quickly and beat the traffic home. If only I had as much money as is needed to buy seats there...I would be in baseball heaven. But alas I must kindly cajole my uncle for his tickets...hehehe...0=)

Umm...classes are going pretty well, although I'm debating whether or not I want to drop my Caravaggio class cuz the prof is just so...bland. There really isn't any other word for it. And he always pauses and umm, umm, umm...so yes, and...yeah, I think you get the picture. He's really intelligent and you know that he knows his stuff, it's just that he's pretty young and his teaching style hasn't quite developed yet. Sooo...I've got a few days to think about it.

I'm still intimidated in my IHL class, but I think everything's going to be ok in the end. And...H,M,&J is going well...I am really loving that class! (And Sunny -- Cassie still hasn't introduced herself yet...I suppose it might take awhile, huh?) Paris is good...and that's about it. I'm tired so I'm going to watch some Sex and the City on OnDemand, and then go to bed...sometime within the next couple hours, I hope.

Take care everyone! *muah*

Wasn't able to wake my ass up to go visit those Webbs before they left...damn. So I guess emails and updates shall have to suffice! Have tons of fun you crazy Webbs!!

So Portland...

Left early in the AM, got down there around 12:15pm and went to Cafe Du Berry for some lunch (anyone going down to Portland has to go there...the french toast is amazing) and went to Grandpa Tom and Grandma Emily's house to meet Ampanpan so that Agnes could pick up her Cartier goods. After that went to Angela's house and the 3 young girls (Caitlyn, Jackie, and Collette) played while Angela watched them and my mom, Agnes, and myself went downtown for a bit of shopping. Tiffanys, Sak's, and Meier & Frank were hit up. It's wonderful that parking is 95 cents and that the stores all validate parking so that it's pretty much free...unless you're there for the whole freakin' day or something...

Back to Angela's for dinner...then leave. I was so damn tired...I had gotten like 4 hours of sleep the night before (BIG factor as to why I wasn't able to wake up for Big Apple Diner breakfast) so I was out on the drive back home.

Got back to Agnes' house around 11:30pm or so and then saw the basketballs my dad, Josh, and Bill had gotten signed by the Sonics at the Sonics Shootout, where courtside and suite ticket holders and one guest are able to watch the Sonics practice, have some breakfast foods, and then get basketballs and other various items you bring signed by all the sonics and the coaches. Went home around 1am, and crashed.

And here I am updating. Trent made a great update from Rome, and now we're all just waiting on those Webbs to update from Germany...take care all!

Saturday, April 03, 2004

Hmm...well, what's been happening lately you ask? Not a whole hell of a lot, I reply.

Classes seem to be going well so far...still extremely excited about the fact that I don't have classes on Fridays...oh the joy!

Prof Locker (teaches Caravaggio) is a bit bland though...so...yeah. Oh well, there's not much that I can do in that dept. Although why the hell they decided to extend the capacity of Art 006 by 5 people is beyond comprehension. Even with the seats full that room is a smidge on the cramped side. That's what you get for going to a public university such as the UW, I suppose.

My IHL class is being moved from Bloedel (a Forest Resource Bldg behind Anderson and next to Winkenwerder -- still the strangest bldg name I've come across here at the U) which is about as far as you can get (not really, I'm just exaggerating. Seriously, it's really far. Just kidding, it's not that bad. No, it's like traversing I-5 from start to finish on foot...if anyone can name the bit I "stole" -- I prefer the term "borrowed" or "use in reference to frequently" -- sometimes, mostly sometimes -- oh, oh, there's another one!...back to the original thought -- you get a gold star and a piece of candy. Damn...what I was meaning to say quite concisely which turned out to be quite verbosely...shit, I'm still doing it! Bloedel to Denny. Christ Almighty I talk a lot -- even in blogging!

Saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with Erin, Chunk, Jared, and Derek on Thursday night in Factoria. Pretty good movie. Cinematography was good, and the story was entertaining...kinda creepy when you think about it, but yeah. The thought of someone searching through and pinpointing specific memories to be targeted and deleted is just too disturbing and such a power trip for someone that they'd have to be some sick psychotic genius. Seriously...gives me the creeps or "wiggins" to borrow such a Valley Girl term from the '90s.

Went to the 5 Spot on Queen Anne today with Ms. Nell, got bubble tea, drove around, and I headed to my hair appt...to get it cut, that is. Turns out that my hairstylist Anna cut her finger and needed to go to the hospital to get stitches. Awesome. Soo...haircut next week, I suppose. Sigh...my hair's gettin' to look a bit Raggedy Anne/Andy at the moment. Got my car washed, went to Target, and I'm working on the interior details right now. All I need to do is Armor All and Windex. Then my car will be in tip-top shape.

Possibly heading over to the Dale in about 6 or 7 hours to have breakfast (or breafest as Jared says) with the aforementioned J boy and two other J boys...of the Webb persuasion, that is. (Jeremy and Josh, to be exact). So yeah...we'll see if I can wake my ass up for that one. If I can, that'll be wonderful since I won't be seeing them for about 2 or 3 months while they're in Europe...look out, here comes the Webb train! If not, I suppose a quick phone call will have to suffice. Work then Lord only knows what.

Heading to P-town on Sunday to pick stuff up from Cartier...bro and dad get to go to the Sonics signing thing (or whatever it's called...I really have no idea) where they get a basketball and get to bring another item of their choice for signing by the team. Damn the perks of having courtside seats. Did I mention that my uncle's thinking of getting front row seats 5 and 6? Yeah...as if being in the 3rd row seats 5 and 6 weren't good enough...

Oh, he also bought M's tickets this year in the Diamond Club (I WAS SO RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED!!! -- still am, for that matter) so I've already called at least 4 or 5 games...one being those Damn Yankees (oh yeah Steinbrenner who buys players and the freakin' bats on the team...ridiculous but amazing...it's one that'll go down in the history books) on May 9th, and two against Boston (oh yeah pitching) on September 11th (yeah...what a day to play) and 12th. Also some others, but I don't really remember at the moment. Alright, that's enough talking/typing. *muah*
